About the host

Meet Bryan Flowers.

Fur Life TV is rooted in Bryan Flowers' 52 consecutive years on the trapline. He was raised among trappers and has carried that field experience into a show about trapping, hunting, and the outdoors.

Where the story began

Bryan's grandfather, uncle, and stepfather were trappers in the Pittsburgh area. After his family moved to Kintnersville, Pennsylvania, Bryan set his sights on catching foxes. He was just 11 in 1974, and his family had one condition before he could go out and trap alone: he had to be able to free his hand from a trap without help.

Fur prices were high then, and experienced trappers guarded their methods closely. Bryan found little advice and learned much through his time on the line. About two years later after he started, he caught his first red fox. The lessons learned have stayed with him, and he has trapped every year since.

The field comes first

For Bryan, responsible trapping and wildlife conservation go together. That outlook shapes the experience he brings to Fur Life TV and the stories he shares with viewers. He is also the author of The Art of Trapping Fox ↗, and his instructional DVDs cover fox, DP coon, and beaver trapping.
